At the milling level the factory that Fig Organic buys Organic cotton from in Turkey is certified SA8000 by the SAI (Social Accountability International) and at the production level SC International (Fig's joint venture partner and manufacturer) has now begun the process to also be certified SA8000. This means fair, safe, and healthy working conditions with no child labor, forced labor, discrimination or inappropriate discipline. The SC International factory in Mexico strictly adheres to all UN Labor Code regulations, and since it also manufactures brands like Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger, it is often inspected unannounced by third party inspectors as stipulated in their manufacturing agreements.
